This is it, isn’t it? The final weekend before release, and the day itself is just around the corner. June 23rd. Who decided it should be so soon? Oh, that’s right. I did.
Well, minor mental breakdowns aside, I’m actually excited to share my novel with the rest of the world. Yes, the thought still frightens the shit out of me. No, Cradle of Sea and Soil isn’t perfect and neither am I. But, I put a lot of soul, sweat, and blood into the book and I’m proud enough of it to believe anyone who reads it will find something to enjoy.
So, here we go. Release day. For those of you who’ve reached out and mentioned how you were looking forward to experiencing Colibrí and Narune’s adventure, I just want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart. It means a lot to me, and the idea of having readers at all is still a bit surreal. Okay, yeah, so I’m jumping ahead a bit, but whatever.
Right now, I’m preparing to move straight into writing the sequel, Stormbringers, which I’ll talk a bit about later. Before that, I’m taking a breather, catching up on some books and video games, and finishing up the paperback version of Cradle of Sea and Soil.
But that’s all mundane and boring! So I decided to also host a giveaway in celebration of my upcoming release. It runs from whenever I randomly made it until Friday, just before midnight. Timer is on the giveaway page:
The real prize is getting to join my Warband Newsletter, but with it comes the chance to win any one indie fantasy ebook of your choice from Amazon, priced up to $10.
On top of that, you’ll also get to choose one of the games listed below. Okay, Persona 4 Golden is only there because I think it’s an amazing game and if I can corrupt even one more person into playing it, then I WILL. I’ve included other options if you’re not a fan of JRPGs, though, and highly recommend Hellblade; the game explores mental health, among other themes, and features quite the heartbreaking story.
Anyway, the three games on offer are:
Persona 4 Golden
A coming of age story that sets the protagonist and his friends on a journey kickstarted by a chain of serial murders.
Experience the critically acclaimed masterpiece with its renowned Sumi-e ink art style in breathtaking high resolution.
Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice
A warrior’s brutal journey into myth and madness. Set in the Viking age, a broken Celtic warrior embarks on a haunting vision quest into Viking Hell to fight for the soul of her dead lover.
That about wraps things up. Go on ahead and enter the contest, pick up a copy of my book if you’re so inclined, and be sure to let me know what you think if you do!
